Role Description

Water and Waste Solutions is part of Industrial Products Business Unit of Thermax Limited. Its area of focus is Water treatment, sewage treatment, effluent treatment and minimum liquid discharge and zero liquid discharge.


We are seeking an experienced professional to help us explore and define the roadmap for setting up a world-class, cost-effective UF and RO membrane manufacturing facility in India. This is a Phase 1 of the project (3 months) focused on feasibility, strategy, and execution planning.


The Advisor – Water Filtration Manufacturing will bring global expertise in UF/RO membranes (PVDF, PS base materials), guide on technology partnerships, manufacturing setup, and supplier ecosystems, and help define the business economics and scale-up plan.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct a strategic feasibility study for setting up UF and RO membrane manufacturing in India.


  • Define the technology roadmap covering pre-filtration, ultrafiltration, and RO with considerations like SDI.


  • Recommend the right technology partners, equipment suppliers, and raw material vendors (India & global).


  • Assess capex, opex, scale-up potential, risks, and mitigation strategies.


  • Benchmark against global leaders to identify competitive advantages.


  • Recommend plant location options, supplier partnerships, and ecosystem development needs.


  • Define business economics, pricing models, and organizational structure for long-term success.
