About QCI and NBQP:


QCI is an inclusive, diverse, equitable and equal-opportunities workplace. Established as a National Body for accreditation and quality promotion through a Cabinet decision, Quality Council of India (QCI) is an autonomous body that plays a pivotal role at the national level in propagating, adoption, and adherence to quality standards in all sectors across manufacturing, trade, and services. The Department for Promotion of industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India is the nodal point for QCI. National Board for Quality Promotion (NBQP), a constituent board of QCI, is required to play a pivotal role in propagating quality in lives of Indian citizens. Sectors of impact will include, not limiting to, education, healthcare, environment, governance, social sectors, infrastructure, and other areas of organized activities that have a significant bearing in improving the quality of life of the citizens and economic development of the Nation.


About the Role:


The CEO, NBQP is expected to shape the national discourse on Quality. As India advances on its Viksit Bharat journey, QCI–NBQP aspires to make quality accessible at every pincode, at affordable cost. QCI is seeking a leader who:


  • Leads from the front with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach.

  • Builds robust quality infrastructure through collaboration and innovation.

  • Travels across clusters and regions, identifies systemic gaps, and develops context-specific solutions.

  • Provides strategic leadership and institutional convergence across QCI Boards and Divisions to strengthen the national Quality ecosystem.

  • Demonstrates a high-growth mindset, strong experimentation capability, and a proven record of executing successful transformations.

  • Places national priorities above all else, working relentlessly to accelerate the Viksit Bharat mission.

  • Enables fast and effective convergence among industry, associations, trade bodies, and State & Central Governments

  • The candidate should have relevant professional experience within structured organizations such as Government bodies, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), autonomous institutions, industry, or other large institutions.

1. Minimum Qualification (Essential)- Graduate Degree from a recognized University/Institute 2. Desirable Qualification- Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University/Institute 3. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of domain experience across key areas including quality promotion, quality assurance, standards development, accreditation, and conformity assessment. 4. Exposure to institutional capacity building, national programs industrial operations, quality management systems, and large-scale change management programs is also essential.
