Ajay Verma has over 35 years of experience in active media and has excelled as a journalist in international and national media organisations, like UNI, Reuters, AFP, BBC, News Nation, Times Now, And TV Today (Aaj Tak/Headlines Today).

Looking back, what would you tell your younger self about preparing for retirement?
"Looking back, I see the future ahead. Had I not pursued my passion, I wouldn't be here sharing this discourse. I'm satisfied and advise the next generation to stay focused on their passions and interests while remaining honest in their work.
At 61, I'm content with my career accomplishments. Though no longer in action, I'm stress-free. I strongly advise those starting careers to build alternatives, so upon retirement, they have engagements and financial stability, as one only realises the need for savings at this age.
Advice I wish I had received when younger:
- Track expenses and plan, as you owe it to yourself and your family. It's never too late to start saving with proper budgeting.
- Don't let fear hold you back. Talk less, listen more, and live each day to the fullest. Retain your imagination, and you'll succeed.
- Don’t fear taking risks; step out of your comfort zone. Embrace failure as a learning experience; never underestimate your potential. Have self-confidence, and the world is yours to excel in."
What are you passionate about, and how do you spend your time now?
"Passion is a powerful force that fuels creativity, motivation, and purpose. It brings joy and fulfilment. When you discover your passion, life becomes more enjoyable and meaningful. If I hadn't been passionate about achieving my dream, I would never have found my dream industry or reached the heights I did. You must always seek "more" in life; that's the magic word. Remember, if you're armed with passion, even after crossing age barriers, you'll be seen as the most skilled and most wanted, regardless of your age."
