On what he wanted to do post-retirement
The word 'retirement' has no place in his vocabulary; it is simply a career transition for him. As he always wanted to be an entrepreneur, he quit his corporate career in 2021 before attaining the statutory retirement age. He founded 'Sankalp Micro Association' and worked on a mission to transform youngsters from 'job seekers to job creators'.
What Sumit is currently doing
Besides his role in Sankalp Micro Association, Sumit regularly mentors national and international students. He is a core team member of the Eco Web Project, an initiative of the Climate Tech Action Network, a global community for a for greener web. He has been appointed a board member of IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Committee) for G.H. Raisoni Institute of Management, an affiliated institute of RTMU, Nagpur. Through WisdomCircle, he was placed as an Expert Instructor in online courses with RightSol.
His experience with WisdomCircle
"In a true sense, WisdomCircle is the depository of the collective wisdom which helps the different industries. Initially, I thought WisdomCircle was a job site for retired people. After learning more about them, I found that this platform is not merely a job site for senior citizens but a platform for fulfilling the unfinished dreams of professionals. The supportive team members, insightful seminars and content help create a niche in the manpower consultancy domain."
Rohil Menon, looking back at his decision to retire early, asks if there really is a good time to retire and shares that work was "not about the monthly cheque at all but that sense of belonging, achievement, camaraderie."
