Teach For India was founded in 2008. Inspired by Teach For America’s journey, they worked with McKinsey & Company to craft a blueprint around the belief that all children must attain an excellent education.
What was their requirement?
Teach for India is a non-profit organisation that aims to address educational inequality by recruiting and training young professionals to teach in underprivileged schools across India. This noble cause, however, comes with its unique set of challenges. The classrooms, for instance, are generally under-resourced and have specific requirements that aren’t easy to meet. This is where their volunteer programme comes into play. These volunteers assist fellows in managing these classrooms and addressing the unique challenges they pose.
