Exciting news! In June we will be launching our very own WisdomCircle community. In this new community, we hope to bring together seasoned professionals, retirees, and lifelong learners to connect, share, and thrive together. If you would like to join early and be a founding member before we open it everyone, sign up for our session on June 10 from 4 to 4:45 PM IST. 

In this edition, our community members share their experience of finding meaning, engagement and productivity after leaving their ‘primary career’. We also spotlight Mr. Munish Sharma, a retired veteran, who was recently placed as an Ambassador at GenWise. ⁠⁠Looking back, what would you tell your younger self about preparing for retirement?

“Looking back, I would tell my younger self to start preparing for retirement early. Prioritise financial planning by investing in diverse and reliable avenues, ensuring a robust safety net for the future. Embrace lifelong learning to stay adaptable and relevant in a rapidly changing world. Develop a strong network of professional and personal connections, as they can offer support and opportunities in retirement. Focus on maintaining a healthy work-life balance, making time for hobbies and activities that bring joy and fulfilment. Lastly, cultivate a mindset of gratitude and flexibility, ready to embrace the next chapter with optimism and resilience.”

What are you passionate about, and how do you spend your time now?

“I am an AMFI registered Mutual Fund Distributor and IRDA registered Insurance Advisor. I help people by aiding in their investment journey. I love leveraging my extensive experience to mentor and guide others. I enjoy sharing my knowledge through consulting, workshops, and speaking engagements, helping individuals and organisations optimise their operations and achieve their goals.

In my leisure time, I indulge in my love for golf, exploring new technologies, and staying updated with the latest trends. I also value spending quality time with family and friends, travelling to new places, and engaging in community service activities.”

WisdomCircle honours those challenging cultural expectations of elders slowing down and retreating into retirement by shining light on their journey through an inspiring series called “Wisdom Stories”. 

In our interview with Mr Sudhir Dhawan, CEO of Aether Engineering Solutions, he said, "Today, I am as eager to give my time and energy to my work as I have always been. My message to the Wisdom Generation is to remain active by working and learning. I am motivated by doing new things, especially those that may be out of my domain."
