Cultural expectations surrounding the elderly are being challenged today, and with good reason!

While it was the norm to slow down and retreat into a quieter life post-retirement, more men and women are finding purpose and joy in doing the opposite.

WisdomCircle honours such men and women by shining light on their journey through an inspiring series called “Wisdom Stories”. These people have successfully smashed stereotypes, and their stories remind us that life should be lived to the fullest, no matter what age or stage.

“I am constantly challenging myself and doing new things, which has helped keep me motivated and young at heart. If you ask my success mantra, I will say never do anything that bores you and doesn’t excite you to jump out of bed in the morning!

Ms. Praveen Rikhy

After a successful career in Public Relations and Public Affairs spanning almost four decades, I found a new direction during the pandemic with Janm Foundation. I started working to help the less fortunate become self-reliant – thus was born a new project called the E-Auto Initiative for Women by Women, which is being implemented by Janm Foundation with the support of HWDC to make travel safe for women and help women from BTL families become economically independent.

Even at 60, I believe in doing new things and taking up challenges – I have recently qualified as an Independent Director with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. I want to contribute in making businesses more sustainable, humane and successful by leveraging my expertise and forging effective business-society partnerships. I look forward to playing a role in the Boardroom to help translate a vision statement into practical business practices towards inclusive growth.”
